Very helpful when on the go. This is an additional resource to my Spanish-English software, audio CD's and internet forums and online dictionaries.
I browse through this before a trip to find words I may not know, and put them in context of things I have already learned.I am not fluent by any stretch, but can definately be polite and try to speak some Spanishg as best as I can, which really does go a long way in making a trip more pleasant and enjoyable for both myself and people I meet. I work on my language skills when I travel and gets some CDs that have helped alot in hearing how things are pronounced and becoming familiar enough that I can be polite. This book is a great addition and suplement when you need to find words.
Very cool. Bought this book as a "filler" to get an Amazon purchase up to $25, and then forgot all about it until (fortunately) I was just leaving for a month-long trip around Colombia.Turns out to be the best $2 I've spent on Amazon. Super helpful, with many of the words I encountered on a daily basis, as well as sentences demonstrating their usage and thereby modeling useful verb forms, including the subjunctive.I think this book would help a total Spanish beginner (which I'm not), as well as anyone with as much as a year of university-level Spanish.Ps: Just learned that the words in this book are available as electronic flashcards from flashcardexchange.com.
Not quite the value as the other book but still not bad. I guess if you wanted to look up the meaning of a word you heard on Telemundo it might not be a bad book, or just open the book everyday and pick out a word of the day. Not as good of a deal as the 770 Basic Phrases, its sister book. Its spanish first.
An OK deal for the low price (2 bucks). It's a nice list of words but has no indication of how to pronounce these words. I guess I expected it to be more than a 1/4 inch thick 50 page paperback.
